In early September, San Teodoro experiences pleasant, warm weather with average daily highs around 27—28C and cooler evenings dipping to around 18C. It is a popular time to visit, characterized by high sunshine hours and warm, manageable sea temperatures for swimming. However, the weather can be unpredictable, sometimes we can experience much cooler temperatures at night, and there is always the possibility of intense rainstorms.

We strongly advise to bring some warm and waterproof clothing alongside your summer wear. Flip flops for the beach and good quality shoes for walking and a lot of dancing!

Pack sunscreen & towels for the beach, and other items to make your stay comfortable.

If you need medication, there is a pharmacy in San Teodoro but we always advise to pack enough of your prescription medication to last the duration of your trip.

Tueco San Teodoro

Our official shuttle partner Tueco San Teodoro offers an airport shuttle for SUNANDBASS guests. If you book in advance and provide your flight number, they will wait for you in case of delays. They have several drop-off locations in San Teodoro that you can choose for comfort. Professionally staffed and well priced, Tueco has been our go to shuttle provider for many years.

Tueco also runs the local Beach Bus service connecting San Teodoro with its beaches and suburbs. Make sure to check the timetables and book in advance for the smoothest service.

Local Bus

The cheapest method of transport is to catch a bus directly from Olbia Airport.

There are two other companies servicing San Teodoro: ARST has a mobile app to let you aquire a ride with credit card and will drop you at the big parking lot, next to the bridge in Via Sardegna. And Deplano is another private service, which will drop you outside San Teodoro, close to Hotel Le Mimose.

You can check the other bus schedules on the Olbia Airport website and Google Maps.

Busses depart from the right side of the parking lot when you leave the airport. You can buy tickets directly from the driver.

Taxi

You can also book a taxi directly from Olbia airport. Be aware, prices vary, and they can start from around €65. For the best price and service book in advance if possible. Demand (and prices) can be high during peak times.

Car rental

There are also several car rentals at Olbia Airport if you want to rent a car for your stay. Be advised that car rental is done at your own risk. To ensure the safety of everyone, expect local police to be on site in San Teodoro performing license and sobriety checks. Ensure you have all necessary documents to drive legally based on your country of origin and do not drink and drive!

On Foot

San Teodoro is a very walkable town and most of our guests opt for this option. It is the best way to take in everything during your stay and easy to stop for an impromptu coffee, drink or gelato, do some shopping or to take in the sights. All venues for SUNANDBASS are within 30 minutes walk of the city centre.

By Bike

One of the easiest and best ways to get around San Teodoro is by bike. There are several rental agencies with a great selection of bicycles and e-bikes. Be sure to book in advance as demand is high during SUNANDBASS.

As long as you booked accommodations directly in San Teodoro and not in one of the more distant suburbs called “Frazioni”, you can easily reach all locations by foot or bike.

In addition to airport shuttles Tueco San Teodoro operates Beach Bus service connecting San Teodoro with its beaches and suburbs. Make sure to check the timetables and book in advance for the smoothest service.

Taxi

In San Teodoro during SUNANDBASS there is very limited taxi service. Demand often exceeds supply, availability can be very scarce (especially at night) and short wait times are not guaranteed.

Car rental

There are also several car rentals at Olbia Airport if you want to rent a car for your stay. Be advised that car rental is done at your own risk. To ensure the safety of everyone, expect local police to be on site in San Teodoro performing license and sobriety checks throughout the week. Ensure you have all necessary documents to drive legally based on your country of origin and do not drink and drive!

Hotels are the best choice when you want to stay on your own or if you’re not attending the whole week. There are many hotels in San Teodoro to choose from.

There are two campsites available in San Teodoro. One at La Cinta beach and one at Cala d’Ambra.

Purchasing bottled water for drinking is strongly recommended.

Drinking the water from the tap is generally advised against, but it is safe to shower and brush your teeth or boil pasta. Ice cubes in the clubs are generally made with bottled water and safe to consume. 

Remember, the temperatures in San Teodoro can be quite high in September. Be sure to keep a good supply of drinking water on hand. Availability to purchase late night or early morning is not guaranteed. Stay safe & stay hydrated! 

Please familiarize yourself with local laws before arriving in San Teodoro. Some rules may differ from those at home.

For example open drinks are not permitted on the street while walking, noise is not permitted after certain hours, littering, smoking outside of designated areas and environmental damage can incur large fines.
